English Translation
Rawh narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Ata informed me, from Abu Salih al-Zayyat, that he heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Every deed of the son of Adam is multiplied, a good deed being rewarded tenfold to seven hundred fold. Allah (عز وجل) said: Except for fasting, for it is for Me and I shall reward it. He leaves his desire and his food for My sake. The fasting person has two joys: a joy when he breaks his fast and a joy when he meets his Lord. And the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.'
