English Translation

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Pray the funeral prayer over your companion' — referring to the one who died owing debts. Then when Allah opened the conquests for him, he said: 'I am closer to the believers than their own selves. Whoever dies leaving a debt, it is upon me. And whoever leaves wealth, it is for his heirs.'
