حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ مُرَّ عَلَى مَرْوَانَ بِجَنَازَةٍ فَل
َمْ يَقُمْ قَالَ فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُرَّ عَلَيْهِ بِجَنَازَةٍ فَقَامَ قَالَ فَقَامَ مَرْوَانُ

English Translation
Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi al-Safar, from al-Sha'bi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) who said: A funeral passed by Marwan and he did not stand. He said: A man came and told him that the Prophet ﷺ used to stand for funerals. Marwan said: Abu Hurayrah informed us that a Jewish funeral passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he stood. So Abu Sa'id said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'When you see a funeral, stand up. Whoever follows it, let him not sit until it is placed down.'
