حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ الْحَبَشِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْغَافِرِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ جَاءَ
بِلَالٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِتَمْرٍ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكَ هَذَا فَقَالَ كَانَ عِنْدِي تَمْرٌ رَدِيءٌ فَبِعْتُهُ بِهَذَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّهْ عَيْنُ الرِّبَا عَيْنُ الرِّبَا فَلَا تَقْرَبَنَّهُ وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ بِمَا شِئْتَ ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ بِهِ مَا بَدَا لَكَ

English Translation
Hisham ibn Sa'id narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sallam al-Habashi narrated to us, he said: I heard Yahya ibn Abi Kathir say: I heard 'Uqbah ibn 'Abd al-Ghafir say: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) say: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There was a man among those before you whom Allah had given wealth and children. When death approached him, he said to his sons: What kind of father was I to you? They said: The best of fathers. He said: I never did any good before Allah. If Allah seizes me, He will punish me. So when I die, burn me, then grind me, then scatter me on a windy day. So they did that. Allah (عز وجل) assembled him and said: What made you do that? He said: Fear of You, O Lord. So Allah forgave him.'
