English Translation
Yunus ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from 'Ata' ibn Yasar, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you doubts in his prayer and does not know how many [rak'ahs] he has prayed — three or four — let him cast aside the doubt and build upon what he is certain of. Then let him prostrate two prostrations before giving salam. If he has prayed five, they will make it even for him, and if he has completed four, they will be a humiliation for Shaytan.'
