حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا صَلّ

َى أَحَدُكُمْ فَنَسِيَ كَمْ صَلَّى أَوْ قَالَ فَلَمْ يَدْرِ زَادَ أَمْ نَقَصَ فَلْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ وَإِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَكُمْ الشَّيْطَانُ فَقَالَ إِنَّكَ قَدْ أَحْدَثْتَ فَلْيَقُلْ كَذَبْتَ إِلَّا مَا سَمِعَهُ بِأُذُنِهِ أَوْ وَجَدَ رِيحَهُ بِأَنْفِهِ

English Translation

Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Yahya, 'Iyad ibn Hilal al-Ansari narrated to me who said: I heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not write anything from me except the Quran. Whoever has written anything from me other than the Quran, let him erase it.' He said: 'And narrate from me, and there is no harm. But whoever deliberately lies upon me, let him take his seat in the Fire.'
