حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ مَرُّوا بِجِنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَمَرُّوا بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجَب
َتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي مُرَّ بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا فَقُلْتَ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَمُرَّ بِجَنَازَةٍ فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا فَقُلْتَ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ وَجَبَتْ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَثْنَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ وَمَنْ أَثْنَيْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ شَرًّا وَجَبَتْ لَهُ النَّارُ أَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ

English Translation
Isma'il narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: They passed by a funeral and spoke well of the deceased. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'It is settled, it is settled, it is settled.' Then they passed by another funeral and spoke ill of the deceased. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'It is settled, it is settled, it is settled.' 'Umar said: 'May my father and mother be your ransom! What is settled?' He said: 'This one whom you praised with good — Paradise is settled for him. And this one whom you spoke evil of — the Fire is settled for him. You are the witnesses of Allah on earth.'
