Hadith #234
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ وَعَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصُّبْحَ بِغَلَسٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ خَرِبَتْ خَيْبَرُ إِنَّا إِذَا نَزَلْنَا بِسَاحَةِ قَوْمٍ فَسَاءَ صَبَاحُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ قَالَ فَخَرَجُوا يَسْعَوْنَ فِي السِّكَكِ وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَالْخَمِيسُ قَالَ فَظَهَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَتَلَ مُقَاتِلَتَهُمْ وَسَ
بَى ذَرَارِيَّهُمْ وَصَارَتْ صَفِيَّةُ لِدِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ ثُمَّ صَارَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدُ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا وَجَعَلَ صَدَاقَهَا عِتْقَهَا قَالَ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ أَنْتَ سَأَلْتَ أَنَسًا مَا أَمْهَرَهَا فَقَالَ لَكَ أَنَسٌ أَمْهَرَهَا نَفْسَهَا فَضَحِكَ ثَابِتٌ وَقَالَ نَعَمْ

English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Zayd, narrated to us, from Thabit and 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Suhayb, from Anas (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Fajr in the darkness. Then he said: 'Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we descend upon a people's territory, evil is the morning of those who were warned.' The people came out into the streets crying: 'Muhammad and his army!' the Prophet ﷺ conquered it by force and the captives were gathered. Dihyah came and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, give me a girl from the captives.' He said: 'Go and take a girl.' He took Safiyyah bint Huyayy. A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, you gave Dihyah Safiyyah bint Huyayy, the chief woman of Qurayzah and al-Nadir. She is only befitting for you.' He said: 'Call him and bring her.' When the Prophet ﷺ looked at her, he said: 'Take any other girl from the captives.'
