Hadith #524
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مَكِّيٌّ حَدَّثَنَا الْجُعَيْدُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ أَتَعْرِفِينَ هَذِهِ
قَالَتْ لَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ قَيْنَةُ بَنِي فُلَانٍ تُحِبِّينَ أَنْ تُغَنِّيَكِ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَعْطَاهَا طَبَقًا فَغَنَّتْهَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَفَخَ الشَّيْطَانُ فِي مَنْخِرَيْهَا
Isnad Chain
English Translation
Makkī narrated to us: al-Juʿayd narrated to us, from Yazīd ibn Khuṣayfah, from al-Sāʾib ibn Yazīd (رضي الله عنه) that a woman came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ, and he said: 'O ʿĀʾishah, do you know this woman?' She said: 'No, O Prophet of Allāh.' He ﷺ said: 'She is the singing woman of such-and-such tribe. Would you like her to sing for you?' She said: 'Yes.' So he gave her a vessel and she sang for her. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Shayṭān has blown into her nostrils.'
