حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ ضُمَيْرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَ
ازِنِيِّ عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ نِكَاحَ السِّرِّ حَتَّى يُضْرَبَ بِدُفٍّ وَيُقَالَ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ أَتَيْنَاكُمْ فَحَيُّونَا نُحَيِّيكُمْ

English Translation
ʿAbdullāh narrated to us, Abū al-Faḍl al-Marwazī narrated to us, he said: Ibn Abī Uways narrated to me, he said: Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbdillāh ibn Ḍumayrah narrated to me, from ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyā al-Māzinī, from his grandfather Abū Ḥasan, that the Prophet ﷺ used to dislike secret marriages until the drum is beaten and it is said: 'We have come to you, we have come to you! So greet us, and we shall greet you.'
