English Translation

Al-Ḥakam ibn Nāfiʿ narrated to us, Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from Ḍamḍam ibn Zurʿah, from Shurayḥ ibn ʿUbayd, from ʿUtbah ibn ʿAbd al-Sulamī, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The martyrs and those who die of plague will come. The plague victims will say, "We are martyrs." It will be said, "Look: if their wounds are like the wounds of martyrs, flowing with blood that smells of musk, then they are martyrs." And they will be found to be so.'
