Hadith #446

English Translation

Yazīd ibn Hārūn narrated to us, Ibn ʿAwn informed us, from al-Shaʿbī, from ʿUrwah ibn al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah, from his father, and from Ibn Sīrīn who raised it to al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah who said: We were with the Prophet ﷺ and he nudged my back — or shoulder — with something he had with him. He said: I followed him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ relieved himself, then came and said: 'Do you have water?' I said: 'Yes, and I have a leather bag of water.' He washed his face. He was wearing a narrow-sleeved Syrian cloak, so he put his hand in and raised the cloak onto his shoulder, pulling his hands out from underneath the cloak. He washed his forearms, wiped over his turban — and he mentioned the forelock with something — and wiped over his leather socks. Then we came back and caught up with the people in the Fajr prayer. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān was leading them and they had prayed one rakʿah. I went to inform him, but he stopped me. So we prayed one rakʿah with him and made up the one we missed.
