English Translation

Abū al-Naḍr narrated to us: al-Mubārak narrated to us, from al-Ḥasan, from al-Nuʿmān ibn Bashīr رضي الله عنه who said: We accompanied the Prophet ﷺ and heard him say: 'Indeed, before the Hour there will be tribulations like pieces of a dark night: a man will wake up a believer and by evening become a disbeliever, and he will be a believer in the evening and wake up a disbeliever. People will sell their share of the Hereafter for a small portion of this world — or for a portion of this world.' Al-Ḥasan said: 'By Allah, we have seen them — figures without minds, bodies without intellect, moths of fire and flies of greed. They go out for two dirhams and return for two dirhams. One of them sells his religion for the price of a goat.'
