حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى

الْفَجْرَ فَقَالَ هَاهُنَا مِنْ بَنِي فُلَانٍ أَحَدٌ ثَلَاثًا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ أَنَا قَالَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ مَحْبُوسٌ عَنْ الْجَنَّةِ بِدَيْنِهِ

English Translation

Wakī‘ narrated to us, Ismā‘īl narrated to us, from al-Sha‘bī, from Samurah: the Prophet ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer, then said three times: ‘Is anyone here from the clan of so-and-so?’ A man said: I am. He said: ‘Your companion is detained from Paradise because of his debt.’
