حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَن غُنَيْمِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَن أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَل

َّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا الْقَلْبَ كَرِيشَةٍ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ يُقِيمُهَا الرِّيحُ ظَهْرًا لِبَطْنٍ قَالَ أَبِي وَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ

English Translation

Yazīd narrated to us, he said: al-Jurayrī informed us, from Ghunaym ibn Qays, from Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: ‘Indeed this heart is like a feather in an open desert, turned back and forth by the wind.’ His father said: Ismāʿīl did not attribute it to the Prophet ﷺ from al-Jurayrī.
