Hadith #463
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَحْيَا وَأَمُوتُ وَإِذَا قَامَ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَمَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Hudhayfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he lay down, would say: 'O Allah, by Your Name I live and die.' And when he rose he would say: 'All praise is due to Allah who has given us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.'
