English Translation
It was narrated from Jabir ibn Samurah who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the people of Kufa complained about Sa'd to Umar, saying: 'He does not pray well.' Umar asked him, and Sa'd said: 'I pray for them the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, not falling short in it. I lengthen the first two rak'ahs of Isha and shorten the last two.' Umar said: 'That is what was expected of you, O Abu Ishaq.'
