حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ

لِعَلِيٍّ أَنْتَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا نَبِيَّ بَعْدِي قَالَ قَالَ نَعَمْ

English Translation

Sa'd (رضي الله عنه) narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said to 'Ali (رضي الله عنه): 'You are to me in the position that Harun was to Musa.' It was said to Sufyan: 'Except that there is no prophet after me?' He said: 'Yes.'
