حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ شَكَا أَهْلُ الْكُوفَةِ سَعْدًا إِلَى عُمَرَ فَقَالُوا لَا يُحْسِنُ يُصَلِّي فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ عُمَرُ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَ
مَّا صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَدْ كُنْتُ أُصَلِّي بِهِمْ أَرْكُدُ فِي الْأُولَيَيْنِ وَأَحْذِفُ فِي الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ الظَّنُّ بِكَ يَا أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ

English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah (رضي الله عنه) said: The people of Kufa complained about Sa'd to 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) and said: 'He does not pray properly.' 'Umar mentioned this to him, and Sa'd said: 'As for the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I used to lead them, lengthening the first two rak'ahs and shortening the last two.' 'Umar said: 'That is what we expected of you, O Abu Ishaq.'
