Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنِي الْقُمِّيَّ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم
َ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكْتُ قَالَ وَمَا الَّذِي أَهْلَكَكَ قَالَ حَوَّلْتُ رَحْلِيَ الْبَارِحَةَ قَالَ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا قَالَ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَى رَسُولِهِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ { نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَأْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ } أَقْبِلْ وَأَدْبِرْ وَاتَّقِ الدُّبُرَ وَالْحَيْضَةَ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ya'qub, meaning al-Qummi, narrated to us, from Ja'far, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I passed by a brother of mine from Quraysh who was copying sections of the Torah, so shall I bring them to you?' The face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ changed color, and 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said to 'Umar: 'Do you not see the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' So 'Umar said: 'We are pleased with Allah as Lord, Islam as religion, and Muhammad as Messenger.' the Prophet ﷺ was relieved and said: 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if Musa (عليه السلام) were to appear among you and you followed him and left me, you would have gone astray.'
