Abd al-Fattah ibn Muhammad ibn Bishir Abu Ghudda al-Halabi al-Hanafi (1336–1417 AH / 1917–1997 CE) was a Syrian Hanafi scholar of Aleppo who became one of the foremost Islamic scholars of the 20th century. He studied under major scholars of Syria and Egypt and was a leading authority in hadith and Islamic biography. He is best known for his extensive critical editions and annotations of classical Islamic texts, bringing previously inaccessible works to a wider audience. His annotations on ibn al-Salah's Muqaddimah and other works are particularly valued. He taught in Saudi Arabia after leaving Syria and trained many students.
