عبد الله بن عمر
Abu Abd al-Rahman Abd Allah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab al-'Adawi al-Qurayshi was the son of the Caliph 'Umar ibn al-Khattab. He was one of the most devoted Companions in following the Sunnah — he would attempt to retrace every step the Prophet ﷺ took, praying in the same spots and following his habits precisely. He narrated over 2,630 hadith — making him the fourth most prolific narrator among the Companions after Abu Hurayrah, Ibn 'Abbas, and Anas ibn Malik. He refused to take sides in the civil wars (refusing both 'Ali and Mu'awiyah and later Husayn and Yazid). He died in Mecca in 73 AH after being wounded by a poisoned spear.
