عبد الله بن الزبير
Abd Allah ibn al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (1–73 AH) was the first Muslim child born in Madinah after the Hijra, an event celebrated by the companions as a good omen. He was the son of the companion al-Zubayr ibn al-Awwam and Asma' bint Abi Bakr, and grew up in the household of the companions. He became a great warrior and scholar. He opposed the Umayyad dynasty and established an independent caliphate from Makkah that controlled much of the Muslim world for nine years (64–73 AH). He rebuilt the Ka'bah and died defending Makkah when al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf besieged the city. He is counted among the companions.
