This entry refers to a narration jointly attributed to Marwan ibn al-Hakam and al-Miswar ibn Makhrama (may Allah be pleased with him). Al-Miswar ibn Makhrama was a Companion of the Prophet ﷺ who directly witnessed the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah and other significant events of the prophetic period, narrating detailed accounts of them. Marwan ibn al-Hakam was an Umayyad political figure and governor of Medina who, while not a Companion in the strict sense, provided additional context to certain narrations. Their combined account of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah — preserved in the major hadith collections especially Sahih al-Bukhari — is one of the most comprehensive reconstructions of that event. This entry is the reverse ordering of the combined narrators also listed as al-Miswar bin Makhrama and Marwan, and refers to the same joint transmission. The detailed account they preserved remains the primary historical source for the terms and circumstances of the Hudaybiyyah treaty.
