Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa al-Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ from the Aslam tribe and one of the participants in the pledge of Ridwan at Hudaybiyyah, an honor mentioned in the Quran. He accompanied the Prophet ﷺ in seven military expeditions and was known for his devotion and proximity to the Prophet. He was among those who gave the Bay'at al-Ridwan under the tree at Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH, of whom Allah said in the Quran: 'Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave their pledge to you under the tree.' After the Prophet's ﷺ passing, Abdullah lived to an exceptionally advanced age and settled in Kufa, where he became one of the last surviving companions in Iraq. He transmitted numerous hadiths to the Tabi'in of Kufa, covering subjects including prayer, supplication, the military campaigns, and the Prophet's character. He was among the very last companions to die, passing away after 86 AH, and was considered a living chain connecting the people of Iraq to the prophetic era. His narrations are preserved in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the Sunan collections.
