Abdur-Rahman ibn al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq al-Taymi al-Qurashi was a leading Medinan Tabi'i scholar and a direct link to the family of the first caliph. His father, al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, was one of the seven great jurists of Medina (al-Fuqaha' al-Sab'ah) and had been raised in the household of his grandmother A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, acquiring from her the most intimate knowledge of the Prophet's ﷺ household practices. Abdur-Rahman inherited his father's knowledge and became one of the primary transmitters of al-Qasim's jurisprudence and hadiths. Imam Malik relied on Abdur-Rahman's transmissions from his father extensively in the Muwatta, making him one of the most frequently cited chains in that canonical collection. Through this chain, a large body of A'ishah's hadiths reached later generations via al-Qasim and then Abdur-Rahman. He was considered highly reliable by all major hadith scholars. His narrations cover prayer, family law, and the Sunnah of the Prophet's household, and appear in the Muwatta, the Sunan, and other major collections. He died around 126 AH.
