Abu Imran al-Fasi

Abu Imran Musa ibn Isa al-Fasi al-Ghafaqi was the foremost Maliki jurist of the Maghreb in his era. Born in Fez, he studied in Córdoba and Kairouan and eventually settled as a teacher in Kairouan. Among his students was Abd Allah ibn Yasin, who went on to found the Almoravid movement that Islamized West Africa.
