أبو زكريا الفراء
Imam
Yahya ibn Ziyad al-Farra' (144–207 AH / 761–822 CE) was the foremost grammarian of the Kufa school and one of the greatest Arabic linguists in Islamic history. His Ma'ani al-Quran (The Meanings of the Quran) is an early and foundational work that analyzes the grammatical and linguistic aspects of every verse in the Quran. Unlike the Basra school (represented by Sibawayhi), the Kufa school had its own analytical approach to Arabic grammar. Al-Farra''s work is an essential reference for understanding the linguistic foundations of Quranic interpretation.
