Al-Miswar ibn Makhramah al-Qurashi al-Zuhri, may Allah be pleased with him, was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ who was brought to Medina as an infant and grew up there during the final years of the prophetic period. He was the son of Makhramah ibn Nawfal and a nephew of Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, one of the ten companions explicitly promised Paradise. Despite being young, he witnessed important events of the prophetic and early caliphate periods. He narrated hadiths from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions including Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them. He was known for his serious character, his accurate transmission, and his principled stands on various matters during the early caliphate period. He was present during the peace negotiations of al-Hudaybiyyah (transmitted through his father) and narrated details of that momentous event. He narrated the famous hadith about Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, in which the Prophet ﷺ declared that what harms Fatimah harms him ﷺ. He died in Mecca during the siege of Ibn al-Zubayr around 64 AH. His narrations are in Sahih al-Bukhari and other major collections.
