al-Suyuti

Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti (Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr) was one of the most prolific Islamic scholars in history, authoring over 500 works on Quranic sciences, hadith, fiqh, history, linguistics, and other fields. His most famous works include al-Itqan fi Ulum al-Quran (a comprehensive encyclopedia of Quranic sciences), Tadrib al-Rawi (hadith methodology), and Tafsir al-Jalalayn (co-authored with al-Mahalli). He claimed to be a mujaddid (renewer) of Islam for his century.
