أنور شاه الكشميري
Muhammad Anwar Shah ibn Mu'azzam Shah al-Kashmiri al-Hanafi was the foremost hadith scholar of the Indian subcontinent. He taught at Darul Uloom Deoband for many years. He was known for an extraordinary encyclopedic memory of hadith — scholars say he could cite the exact page and volume of any hadith in the classical collections from memory. He wrote Fayd al-Bari (dictated lectures on Sahih al-Bukhari, recorded by students), Ikfar al-Mulhidin, and 'Arf al-Shadhi (Tirmidhi commentary). He died in Deoband in 1352 AH.
