حام بن نوح
Ham adalah seorang son of Nabi Nuh AS who boarded the ark with ayahnya during the flood. Like saudaranya Sam (Shem), he adalah not mentioned by name in Al-Al-Qur'an but appears in Islamic historis tradisi through the writings of klasik para ulama. ulama Islamship following the tradisi of the People of the Book (which Islam accepts with appropriate caution) identifies Ham as an ancestor of the African peoples and others in the southwestern regions of the ancient dunia. Ibn Kathir records genealogical tradisis placing various peoples of Africa, Mesir, and surrounding regions as descendants of Ham. The sons of Ham mentioned in klasik Islamic and Biblical genealogies include Kush, Misraim (associated with Mesir/Misr), Phut, and Canaan. Importantly, while the Biblical account contains a 'curse of Ham' narrative, tradisi Islam does not endorse racial hierarchy or the theological use of genealogy to justify subjugation. Islam holds that no person bears the burden of their ancestors' deeds, and all people adalah equal before Allah except in taqwa (kesalehan). Ham's signifikansi in Islamic historiography adalah terutama genealogical — part of understanding how the post-flood dunia adalah repopulated from the three sons of Nuh.
