Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith

Juwayriyyah bint al-Harith ibn Abi Dirar al-Khuza'iyyah (d. 56H) was the daughter of the chief of the Banu Mustaliq tribe, taken captive after the Battle of al-Muraisi (5H). She came to the Prophet seeking help to ransom herself, and the Prophet himself paid her ransom and married her. Aisha narrated: 'I know of no woman who was a greater blessing to her people than Juwayriyyah. When the companions heard the Prophet had married her, they released all the captives of Banu Mustaliq, saying: They are now relatives of the Messenger of Allah — thus 100 households were freed.' She transmitted several hadiths and lived until approximately 56H.
