Mujashi ibn Masud al-Sulami, may Allah be pleased with him, was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ from the tribe of Sulaym. He is primarily known in the hadith literature for his narration about the conditions and circumstances of the pledge of allegiance (bay'ah) given to the Prophet ﷺ. He narrated an account in which he brought his brother to pledge allegiance to the Prophet for emigration (hijrah), and the Prophet informed him that there was no more emigration after the conquest of Mecca — but that instead, there remained the pledge for Islam, faith, and jihad. This narration is important in the hadith sciences for its ruling on the status of hijrah after the conquest and for its emphasis on the ongoing obligations of faith and striving. It appears in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. He also narrated additional hadiths found in the major collections and was considered a reliable companion narrator. His specific biographical details beyond these narrations are not extensively preserved in the classical sources.
