Muhammad Taqi Usmani (born 1943 CE / 1362H) is a Pakistani Deobandi scholar widely considered the foremost living authority on Islamic commercial law and finance. He served as a Sharia board member for major Islamic financial institutions globally and as a judge on Pakistan's Federal Sharia Court. His Takmilah Fath al-Mulhim is a major completion of the commentary on Sahih Muslim. He has written extensively on Islamic finance, Hanafi fiqh, hadith, and tafsir. His book Islam and Modernism addresses contemporary challenges from a traditional scholarly perspective. He was educated at Darul Uloom Karachi and studied under his father Mufti Muhammad Shafi'.
