Salama ibn al-Akwa al-Aslami (RA), whose full name was Salama ibn Amr ibn al-Akwa, was from the tribe of Aslam and was renowned among the companions for his exceptional speed in running on foot — a speed that reportedly allowed him to keep pace with a horse. He participated in many military expeditions, including Hudaybiyyah, where he gave his pledge under the tree. He was at Khaybar, Hunayn, and other major campaigns. He narrated approximately 77 hadiths, many relating to warfare, hunting, and the Prophet's conduct during expeditions. He is known for hadiths describing the pursuit of raiders and his personal exploits in protecting the Muslim community. In his later years he withdrew from the main population centers and settled in the Rabadha area, preferring a simpler life. He passed away around 74 AH.
