Imran ibn Husayn al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with him) was a Companion of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ known for his exceptional piety and for what companions described as his spiritual experiences — including reportedly hearing the greetings of angels. He embraced Islam before the Khaybar expedition and participated in subsequent campaigns. He narrated approximately 180 hadiths from the Prophet ﷺ on prayer, purification, legal rulings, and the Prophet's general guidance. He settled in Basra where he became one of the most respected religious authorities, teaching the Muslim community there for many years. He is reported to have suffered from a severe illness for a long period of his life yet remained patient and grateful, a quality the Companions and Tabi'in admired. His narrations are preserved in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the Sunan collections. This entry, with the appended (RA), is a variant listing of the Companion also recorded as Imran ibn Husain. He passed away in Basra around 52–53 AH.
