Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani (RA) was from the tribe of Juhayna and came to Medina during the final years of the Prophet's mission. He was known for his expertise in Quranic recitation, archery, and horsemanship — skills the Prophet ﷺ specifically encouraged. He served as the leader of the delegation from his tribe to the Prophet ﷺ and participated in several military expeditions. He narrated approximately 55 hadiths covering prayer, charity, the permissibility of archery, and Islamic conduct. He was appointed governor of Egypt by Muawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan and was recognized there as a religious authority and teacher. He was regarded as one of the most learned companions in Egypt during his governorship. He passed away in Egypt around 58 AH.
