Conversion of Sa'id ibn Zayd

إسلام سعيد بن زيد

Mecca

Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl accepted Islam early along with his wife Fatimah bint al-Khattab, the sister of Umar ibn al-Khattab. His father, Zayd ibn Amr ibn Nufayl, had been a hanif who rejected idolatry before the coming of Islam and died searching for the true religion of Ibrahim. The Prophet said about Zayd: 'He will be raised on the Day of Judgment as a community by himself.' Sa'id's acceptance of Islam, and his wife's, would later play a pivotal role in the conversion of Umar, who discovered them reciting Quran in their home. Sa'id was one of the ten companions promised Paradise and participated in all major battles except Badr, as the Prophet had sent him on a reconnaissance mission.
