Military Expeditions After the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah

البعوث بعد صلح الحديبية

Various locations around Medina

After the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah secured peace with the Quraysh, the Prophet focused on consolidating Muslim power by sending expeditions to neutralize hostile tribes and secure strategic routes. He sent a force to Dhu Qarad when a raiding party stole some of the Prophet's camels. He dispatched expeditions against Banu Fazarah, to al-Jumum against Banu Amir, and to al-Hadr against the Juhaynah tribe. The Prophet also sent Abu Bakr al-Siddiq to Najd and Bashir ibn Sa'd to Fadak. These operations served to secure the northern and eastern approaches to Medina, neutralize potential threats to the planned campaign against Khaybar, and demonstrate that the treaty with the Quraysh had freed the Muslims to project power in all directions. Within two years of Hudaybiyyah, Islam's territory expanded dramatically, confirming the Quran's characterization of the treaty as a 'clear victory' (fathan mubinan).
