Al-Marghinani's work became the standard reference for Hanafi jurisprudence across the Ottoman Empire, Central Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. It presents legal rulings with evidence and reasoning, noting differences of opinion within the Hanafi school. Over 70 commentaries and super-commentaries have been written on it.
