Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), also written as AbuRafi', was a freed slave of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and one of his close personal attendants. His birth name is given variously as Aslam or Ibrahim in classical sources. He was originally a slave of al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, who gave him to the Prophet ﷺ as a gift, and the Prophet ﷺ freed him. He served in the Prophet's household and was present at many of the intimate moments of the Prophet's daily life. He is known for transmitting narrations about the Prophet's household conduct, his marital practices, and specific etiquette observed in the prophetic household. He is sometimes confused with other Abu Rafi' figures in the tradition, but the narrations attributed to the Prophet's freed slave are generally considered reliable. His reports are found in the Sunan collections. This entry is a variant spelling of the narrator also listed as Abu Rafi'.
