Ibn Abi Mulaika, whose full name was Abdullah ibn Ubaydullah ibn Abi Mulaika al-Tamimi al-Makhzumi, was a prominent Tabi'i scholar of Mecca. He served as a judge under the Caliph Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr, as a muezzin for the Masjid al-Haram, and as a prayer leader — three significant positions that attest to his standing in the community. He narrated from Aisha, Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umar, Ibn al-Zubayr, and numerous other senior Companions, making him one of the most connected Tabi'i scholars to the Companion generation. He was regarded as highly reliable (thiqa) by the scholars of hadith, and Imam al-Bukhari and Imam Muslim both relied on him extensively in their Sahih collections. His narrations cover a wide range of topics including the description of the Day of Judgment, matters of prayer, and reports from the Prophet's household. He passed away around 117 AH. This entry is a variant spelling of the narrator also listed as Ibn Abi Mulaika.
