Abu Burda ibn Abi Musa al-Ashari was a prominent Tabi'i scholar and jurist, the son of the distinguished Companion Abu Musa al-Ashari (may Allah be pleased with him). He inherited his father's deep knowledge of the Sunnah and narrated a substantial body of hadiths from him, making him one of the most important transmitters of Abu Musa's prophetic knowledge. He also narrated from other Companions including Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abu Huraira. He served as a judge in Kufa, where he was respected for his knowledge, integrity, and sound legal judgment. His narrations appear in Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and the Sunan collections on topics including prayer, good character, the reading of the Quran, and Islamic ethics. He was considered a highly reliable Tabi'i narrator by the scholars of hadith criticism. He passed away around 103–104 AH in Kufa. This entry is a variant of the narrator also listed as Abu Burda.
