1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Islam.wiki (“Service”), you agree to these Terms. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Ummat (501(c)(3) application pending).

2. Service Description

Islam.wiki is a free, open Islamic knowledge base covering the Quran (with tafsir and translations), Hadith collections, Seerah, biographies of scholars and companions, books, articles, and general Islamic reference. Content is sourced from classical Islamic scholarship and is community-contributed with editorial review.

3. Account Requirements

• You must be at least 13 years old (US) or 16 years old (EU) to create an account.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.
• One account per person. Multiple accounts for abuse are prohibited.

4. User Content and Islamic Content Guidelines

If you contribute content (wiki edits, corrections, annotations), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it within the Service. Contributions are subject to editorial review per Islam.wiki’s scholarly standards.

This is an Islamic platform. All contributions must:

• Respect Allah, the Prophets (peace be upon them), the Quran, and the Sunnah.
• Be sourced from recognized Islamic scholarship (classical or contemporary).
• Not spread fitnah, sectarian attacks, or content that contradicts Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah.
• Not promote haram activities or extremist positions.

Islamic knowledge disclaimer: Content is for informational and educational purposes. It does not constitute a fatwa or binding religious ruling. Consult a qualified scholar for specific religious legal matters.

5. Prohibited Use

• Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Do not attempt unauthorized access to any system or data.
• Do not scrape or bulk-harvest data without written permission.
• Do not submit vandalism, false hadith, or fabricated Islamic content.
• Do not impersonate scholars, institutions, or other users.

6. Donations

We accept voluntary donations. Ummat’s 501(c)(3) application is pending. Donations are not yet tax-deductible. We will update this section when tax-exempt status is granted.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for Terms violations. You may delete your account at any time via Account Settings. Data is removed per our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Islamic content on this platform reflects the views of the cited scholars — not an official religious authority. Ummat is not an Islamic legal institution.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ummat is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months or $100 USD.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Delaware, USA (upon incorporation; Michigan law applies until then). EU/UK users: mandatory consumer protection laws in your country apply.

11. Changes to Terms

We will provide at least 14 days’ notice before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
