ﺍﻟﻨﱠﺒِﻲﻔﹶﺭٍ ﺃَﻥﻌﻥِ ﺠﺩِ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪِ ﺒﺒ ﻋﻥﻋ r ﺜﹸﻡﻡﻬﺄْﺘِﻴ ﻴﻔﹶﺭٍ ﺜﹶﻼﹶﺜﹰﺎ ﺃَﻥﻌلَ ﺁلَ ﺠﻬ ﺃَﻤ ﻓﹶﻘﹶﺎلَ ﻡﺃَﺘﹶﺎﻫ )) ﻻﹶ ﻡِﻭ ﺍﻟﹾﻴﺩﻌﻠﹶﻰ ﺃَﺨِﻲ ﺒﻜﹸﻭﺍ ﻋﺘﹶﺒ (( The Prophet (r) delayed coming to visit Ja‘far’s family for three days after his death, then he came to them and said, “Do not cry for your brother after today.”18 In the previous hadith of ‘Aa’ishah’s concerning ‘Uthmaan ibn Math‘oon she mentioned that the Prophet (r) cried until tears over flowed from his eyelids. ِﻭلِ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪﺴ ﺭﻊﺨﹶﻠﹾﻨﹶﺎ ﻤ ﻗﹶﺎلَ ﺩﻨﹾﻪ ﻋﻀِﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪﺎﻟِﻙٍ ﺭﻥِ ﻤ ﺃَﻨﹶﺱِ ﺒﻥﻋ r ﻜﹶﺎﻥﻥِ ﻭﻑٍ ﺍﻟﹾﻘﹶﻴﻴﻠﹶﻰ ﺃَﺒِﻲ ﺴ ﻋ ِﻅ ﻭلُ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪِ ﺴﻼﹶﻡ ﻓﹶﺄَﺨﹶﺫﹶ ﺭﻪِ ﺍﻟﺴﻠﹶﻴ ﻋﺍﻫِﻴﻡﺭﺍ ِﻹِﺒﺌْﺭ r ﺫﹶﻟِﻙﺩﻌﻪِ ﺒﻠﹶﻴﺨﹶﻠﹾﻨﹶﺎ ﻋ ﺩ ﺜﹸﻡﻪﺸﹶﻤ ﻭﻠﹶﻪ ﻓﹶﻘﹶﺒﺍﻫِﻴﻡﺭ ﺇِﺒ ﻭلِ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪِ ﺴﻨﹶﺎ ﺭﻴﻠﹶﺕﹾ ﻋﻌ ﺒِﻨﹶﻔﹾﺴِﻪِ ﻓﹶﺠﻭﺩﺠ ﻴﺍﻫِﻴﻡﺭﺇِﺒﻭ r ﻥِ ﻤﺤﺍﻟﺭﺩﺒ ﻋ ﺘﹶﺫﹾﺭِﻓﹶﺎﻥِ ﻓﹶﻘﹶﺎلَ ﻟﹶﻪ ﻑٍ ﻭ ﻋﻥﺒ ﻭلَ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪِ ﻓﹶﻘﹶﺎلَﺴﺎ ﺭﺃَﻨﹾﺕﹶ ﻴ ﻭﻨﹾﻪ ﻋﻀِﻲ ﺍﻟﻠﱠﻪﺭ : )) ﺔﹲﻤﺤﺎ ﺭﻑٍ ﺇِﻨﱠﻬﻭ ﻋﻥﺎ ﺍﺒ ﻴ .(( ﻯ ﺎ ﺒِﺄُﺨﹾﺭﻬﻌ ﺃَﺘﹾﺒﺜﹸﻡ ﻓﹶﻘﹶﺎلَ r : )) ﺇِﻨﱠﺎ ﺒِﻔِﻨﹶﺎ ﻭﺒﻰ ﺭﻀﺭﺎ ﻴﻻﹶ ﻨﹶﻘﹸﻭلُ ﺇِﻻﱠ ﻤ ﻭﻥﺯﺤ ﻴﺍﻟﹾﻘﹶﻠﹾﺏ ﻭﻊﻤ ﺘﹶﺩﻥﻴ ﺍﻟﹾﻌﺇِﻥ ﺎ ﻴﺍﻗِﻙﺭ ﻭﻨﹸﻭﻥﺯﺤ ﻟﹶﻤﺍﻫِﻴﻡﺭﺇِﺒ .(( Anas ibn Maalik also reported that they went with the Prophet (r) to visit Aboo Sayf, the husband of Ibraheem’s19 wet nurse, and the Prophet (r) took Ibraaheem, cuddled him and kissed him. When they later went back to visit him, Ibraheem was breathing his last and the Prophet’s (r) eyes became filled with tears. ‘Abdur-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf asked, “Even you, O Messenger of Allaah?” The Prophet (r) replied, “O son of Awf, verily it is a mercy.” His eyes again became filled with tears and he said, “Verily the eyes become filled with tears and the heart feels sorrow, but we only say that which pleases our Lord.
